Risk Management strategy
MomaPIX are very conscious that following the collapse of Digital Railroad there is a climate of uncertainty and mistrust running through some parts of the professional photography community. Therefore, MomaPIX wish to reassure their customers that they have done everything to minimise the risk of a similar experience effecting their customers so we presenting our strategy for securing the services we offer.Technical issues
Data can be lost, services can be interrupted. Solutions implemented: MomaPIX use two independent 'server farms', one in Europe and one in the US. Each server farm acts as the primary host for 50% of our customers and also provides backup for the data held as primary data in the other location. We have an automated in-house procedure to backup the servers on a daily and weekly basis to minimise the risk of newly stored data being lost. If required we can also arrange for customers to have their own private backups, to an independent server, with an automated daily and weekly backup procedure.
MomaPIX use HA server technology (High Availability server technology) which means each server has redundant capacity to ensure continuity of the disk service in the case of a component failure. The disks are configured in RAID 10 format, that clusters and mirrors data over several disks to maximise security of data and continuity of service. We also use a state of art Firewall, an IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and offer the possibility to encrypt data. This means that our service architecture doesn't have a single point of failure. If a fault does occur, the service will remain up and running, without interruption for our customers. In addition, due to the remote backup, in case of a major disaster (complete blocking of the server farm, earthquake, flood etc.) we can recover the data for second server farm and restart the services in 24/48 hours. In this very unlikely scenario customers may lose some data, but this is limited to the data uploaded to the server after the last backup which means between last 1 to 23 hours of uploads.
Financial issues
Financial overexposure, too optimistic income forecast. Solutions implemented: MomaPIX is financially independent with no external capital from investors or banks. All our activities run from our own capital. For every investment to make MomaPIX undertake a Return On Investment analysis (ROI analysis) and undertake a due diligence assessment on each development proposal. This means we do things step by step with our own resources. We carefully evaluate how we invest, always with the intention of improving our service and the support we can offer to our customers.
Asset Issues
My photos could be sold without my knowledge, the archive could be highjacked: it is understandable that people may also be worried that storing their archive with a company with which they are not familiar could expose them to the risk of having their copyright infringed. To this concern MomaPIX direct you to the many loyal customers that we have served over the years. All would happily confirm that we have never compromised the integrity of their property. We would also highlight that we do not offer a marketplace nor operate any form of photo agency so have no interest in acquiring images by deception and have no opportunity to benefit from such an activity. MomaPIX is a technology and software company not a seller of digital images
